It is the dream of WCJCC, that every JCC in the
world will have at least two fellow JCC partners - one in Israel and one in
another Jewish community. WCJCC initiates, supports and nurtures the
development of meaningful mutual relations between JCCs worldwide.
"From listening to the reports of the participants one can sense that the
discussions that took place with the local JCCs were very interesting and the
personal meetings very moving. People bid farewell with tears in their eyes."

The Tri Center Project
The goal of the project is to develop the sense of Klal Israel by creating a meaningful relationship between JCCs from three different communities, one in Israel, one in North America and the third from another part of the Jewish world.
In 2006, funding from UJA Federation of New York in partnership with the Jewish Agency for Israel became available to test a new model of a Tri Center Project. The JCCs chosen were: the Suffolk Y JCC and the JCC of the Greater Five Towns in Long Island, New York, French Hill, Jerusalem and Lamroth Hakol, JCC/Synagogue, Buenos Aires.

The three partners began to meet and decided on a leadership teen project whereby a select group of teens from each community held seminars at the two other communities and was engaged in a three year leadership program. The project culminated in Israel this past July with a week long seminar of the teens and their parents. In addition, senior staff became involved, visited each other and developed joint programs. The three boards of directors also became involved in the project through discussions, conference calls and mutual visits. The participants from the three different communities turned into a strong and committed group.
Based on the initial success of this pilot project, several other New York-Jerusalem JCC partnerships have joined the project
The new tri centers are:
-
Staten Island, New York- Pisgat Zeev, Jerusalem- Redbridge, London
- Sephardic JCC, New York- Gilo, Jerusalem- Toulouse, France
- Benson Hurst , New York- Kiryat Menachem, Jerusalem- Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine
As of late, the Michael Ann Russell JCC in Miami which is partnered with the Yerucham community centers is looking into joining forces with the Hacoaj JCC in Buenos Aires to develop a new Tri Center Project.
We encourage other JCCs to join the project !
