Leo Baeck Hosts World Confederation of Jewish Community Centers

On September 20th, 250 leaders of Jewish communities from 35 countries came to Leo Baeck as a part of the 7th World Conference of the WCJCC. Leo Baeck Community Center and the Lokey International Academy of Jewish Studies were invited to play a major role in the conference whose theme was Strengthening Jewish Identity in a Dynamic, Multi-Cultural Society. The Lokey Academy's Dalia Tibon-Lagziel, a rabbinic student at Hebrew Union College, was responsible for the Jewish content of the conference including creative morning services, a special shehechianu, and other touches of spirituality throughout the four days.

Conference participants visited Beit Yitzhak, the Kiryat Sprintzak Clubhouse, Mercaz Ruth, the Clore Neighbourhood Centre, and the Arab Early Childhood Center. The day closed with a tour of the Leo Baeck Education Center campus followed by a spiritual gathering under the stars in The Hugo Gryn Outdoor Synagogue and Gardens.
